PRIEST IN CHARGE
The Reverend Pat Deeny
Before my appointment as priest in charge at St Christopher’s in April 2018, I was assistant chaplain to Perth College. Prior to that I worked as a FIFO chaplain in the mining sector in the Pilbara, and as an area chaplain with YouthCARE School Chaplaincy WA. In September 2020 I was also appointed chaplain to Crosslinks, within the Diocese of Perth. The group consists of people with intellectual disabilities, families, friends, carers, members of the Anglican Parishes of Floreat Park and City Beach, and other supportive people including members of the Friends of L’Arche, Perth. In November 2022 I was appointed area dean of the Keela Deanery.
I trained for ministry at Wollaston Theological College, and was ordained Deacon in 2016, and Priest in 2017 in St George’s Cathedral, Perth. I completed my Bachelor of Theology degree through Charles Sturt University (St Mark's Theological College).
I bring a wealth of experience into ministry having journeyed with people across many walks and events of life as a registered nurse, midwife and qualified psychodynamic counsellor prior to my ordination.
I am married to Dave, who is also an Anglican priest in the Diocese of Perth, and we have four adult children and two beautiful grandchildren.
Second only to God and love of family is my love of sport!

THE WARDENS
It is the overall responsibility of the Church Wardens to organize the conduct of Parish affairs so that the Parish, with the spiritual guidance of the Parish Priest, will be able to effectively carry out its mission as a Christian community. Our two wardens work together with the Parish Priest and Parish Council to look after the business issues of the church, such as the fabric of the Parish properties, the financial affairs, the safety and well-being of people while on Church property, welcoming of newcomers and visitors, seeing that standards of the Anglican Church are upheld, the resolution of issues and more.
